Prof. Dr. Jens Brüning was awarded with the EASD / Novo Nordisk Foundation Diabetes Prize for Excellence and the Ernst Schering Prize.

Professor Jens Brüning, principal investigator at CECAD, director of the Max-Planck-Institute for Metabolic Research in Cologne and endocrinologist at the University Hospital Cologne has been honored with the EASD/Novo Nordisk Foundation Diabetes Prize for Excellence at the Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and is awarded today for the Ernst Schering Prize.

The EASD/Novo Nordisk Foundation Diabetes Prize for Excellence is awarded every year to a researcher for outstanding scientific contributions that have increased the knowledge of diabetes.

The Ernst Schering Prize is also honoring Brünings excellent basic research and its groundbreaking findings for potential new prevention and therapy approaches for obesity and metabolic diseases.
