Further collaboration with Keio University planned

Japan’s aging population is growing faster than any other nation on earth. The Keio University School of Medicine is focused on helping create a society where people live better, longer lives. Since many years, there is an existing partnership between the University of Cologne and the Keio University.

To further deepen the exchange, the “Keio-Cologne Symposium on Aging and Longevity“ was held in Cologne in February 2018 and hosted by CECAD, ZIB Med and the University of Cologne. The different sessions about “Metabolism”, “Alzheimer´s and Neurodegenerative Disorders”, “Tissue Homeostasis” and on “Mechanisms of Longevity & Human Aging” attracted more than 100 researchers from the different universities. A return visit of a CECAD-group is planned for early 2019.
