What is Soapbox Science? Soapbox Science is a novel public outreach platform for promoting women and non-binary scientists and the science they do.The event transform public areas into an arena for public learning and scientific debate. Soapbox Science ensures that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy, learn from, heckle, question, probe, interact with, and be inspired by some of our leading scientists.

What happened so far? Since 2011, over 2,500 scientists have participated in Soapbox Science, reaching an audience of 300,000 members of the public. In 2015, the initiative was commended by the UK Prime Minister and, in June 2016, received a Silver Medal from the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). Both co-founders of Soapbox Science were also invited to provide oral evidence at a 2016 Parliamentary inquiry on science communication."
