CECAD congratulates Professor Aleksandra Trifunovic on receiving the University of Cologne’s Max Delbrück Prize for her pioneering contributions to mitochondrial biology.

The University of Cologne has awarded the Max Delbrück Research Prize 2025 in the category of natural and life sciences to Professor Dr Aleksandra Trifunovic. CECAD warmly congratulates her on this prestigious recognition.

Aleksandra Trifunovic is an internationally renowned scientist whose research has significantly shaped our understanding of mitochondria, aging, and cellular stress responses. Her work has laid the foundation for key developments in mitochondrial quality control and its role in age-related diseases.
