We would like to invite you to an online viewing of the film "Picture a Scientist" and a subsequent panel discussion. The movie is a documentary about institutional bias, sexual discrimination and systemic racism in academic research, demonstrated through the stories of 3 female scientists. Participants can watch the movie online any time between Friday, 23.4., and Monday, 26.4..
On Monday, 26.4.2021, at 2pm the viewing will be followed by a roundtable discussion with members of the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing and CECAD, where our panelists will talk about their experiences with regards to diversity, address questions raised by the movie and highlight what we can do as institutions and as members of the scientific community to make research as inclusive as possible.

The aims of the event are to discuss issues of gender equality and diversity, to exchange information about how our campus ensures a welcoming environment for researchers regardless of gender or background, and also to spread awareness about gender issues and ways to overcome them.
The event is free of charge, but registration is mandatory, since since only a limited number of viewing licences are available! Licences will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Registration closes on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 4PM.
