"I’ve always loved science. I always wanted to know how nature worked and was giddy with excitement when I thought I’ve found a putative answer to a problem. I’ve always wanted children and a family, too. My mother was a successful physician with three kids, and I thought I was prepared for the ups and downs. Turns out, I was better prepared perhaps than others, but I learned and am still learning that in private and professional life, it’s a team effort. It can work as long as you consider the needs and goals of the team members. In the GADIS talk, I will tell you a bit about my failures and successes as PI, mother, partner, and friend."
