At TEDx Essen, which focused on "Shaping Tomorrow", Dr Kaul delivered a compelling talk entitled "Shaping Tomorrow for Forcibly Displaced Refugees Using Emotional AI". Drawing on her volunteer work with refugees in Germany, she presented innovative ways to address their emotional and psychological needs through cutting-edge emotional AI technology. Her talk highlighted how this emerging field can empower and uplift marginalised communities, offering them new pathways to resilience and hope.
Meanwhile, at TEDx University of Erfurt, under the theme "A New Perspective", she explored the global challenge of ageing in her talk "Balancing Act: Aging Like a Pro and a New Blueprint for Global Health". Highlighting strategies for building resilience and adaptability, Dr Kaul presented forward-looking approaches to addressing the health challenges of an ageing population.
Both events featured a diverse line-up of nine exceptional speakers, including a Minister of State, a member of the Senate Inclusion Committee, an Orthodox priest, a patient social media content creator, marketing professionals, professors and startup founders. These talks sparked thought-provoking discussions and resonated deeply with audiences, tackling some of today's most pressing global issues.
TEDx events are independently organised TED-style forums designed to spark innovation and inspire action on issues that matter. Dr Kaul's talks have been enthusiastically received, reflecting her ability to translate groundbreaking research into real-world impact.
Congratulations to Dr Kaul for representing CECAD on such a prestigious platform and for bringing bold, transformative ideas to the global stage. Recordings of both talks will soon be available on the official TED YouTube channel.
