On February 11th, the preschool children from the kindergarten "Flinke Forscher" in Hürth-Efferen visited CECAD to explore the fascinating world of science. After a short introduction, the young guests donned lab coats and began experimenting.
At three different stations, the children used everyday materials to explore the characteristics of acids and bases. They were especially fascinated by the vibrant color changes induced when mixing red cabbage juice with lemon juice or vinegar. A guided lab tour provided exciting insights into the world of science. Here, the kids had the opportunity to use modern microscopes to take a look at fluorescent cells and worms.
After two exciting hours, the visit came to an end, leaving the children with lively impressions and new knowledge. Our guests left full of enthusiasm – and perhaps this day, by sparking their curiosity, started the making of future scientists.
Thanks to Lena, Marvin, Roberta, Jenny, Jessica, Sibylle and Maria, who helped mentoring the experiments for the children!
