PD Dr. Christian Reinhardt receives the Vincenz-Czerny Prize

This year’s Vincenz-Czerny prize of the German Society of Hematology and Oncology (DGHO) has been awarded to PD Dr. Christian Reinhardt. The prestigious award recognizes Dr. Reinhard’s achievements in the field of anti-cancer therapy.  The team led by Dr Reinhard apply the genetic concept of synthetic lethality to achieve targeted destruction of cancer cells, leaving surrounding tissue unscathed. Their research has been funded by the DFG, NIH and MIT Koch Fund. The award ceremony will take place on 1st October 2011 during of the Annual Meeting in Basle.
