Prof. Oliver Cornely, Principal investigator and Head of the Translational Platform at CECAD, was able to reach the second selection phase of Horizon 2020. Horizon 2020 is an EU-programme for Research and Innovation. Its aim is to support science and innovation within the EU, as well as to promote the development of a competitive economy. Therefor the selected projects will be awarded with grants up to 6 Mio. Euros.
Prof. Cornely is participating in the selection as project coordinator of „MYCOQUEST - Moving Beyond Current Limitations in Diagnosing Fungal Diseases“. This project involves altogether 14 consortium partners from five different countries.
Out of more than 400 applicants, only about 140 qualified for the second selection round. The final decision, which projects will be funded in the future, will presumably be made in late autumn 2014.
