The LTQ Orbitrap Discovery mass spectrometer (Thermo Scientific) is a hybrid system combining the LTQ XL linear ion trap mass spectrometer and the Orbitrap mass analyzer and is equipped with a HCD cell. The LTQ Orbitrap Discovery provides fast, sensitive and reliable identification and quantification of peptides/proteins as well as analyses of post-translational modifications. The LTQ Orbitrap Discovery is coupled to an EASY nLC II nano-LC system and equipped with a nano-ESI source.
The Ultraflextreme allows for fast determination of molecular masses of peptides and intact proteins. With this instrument In-Source Decay (ISD) fragmentation can be used for Top-down protein sequencing. This technique allows N- and C-terminal ladder sequencing up to 50 residues and is a valuable tool for quality control of purified proteins.
The HCT Ion Trap instrument is coupled to an EASY nLC II nano-LC system. It is equipped with the ETD option providing an alternative ion fragmentation technique. ETD is usually used in combination with CID in an alternating mode. The instrument is used for fast analysis of low complexity samples with moderate sensitivity.
The TripleTOF 6600 is Q-TOF mass spectrometer that provides high resolution and mass accuracy on all MSn stages. The TripleTOF is coupled to an Eksigent nanoLC 2D system. It is specifically suited for shotgun and data-independent acquisition (DIA).
