No fewer than five physicians from the University Hospital Cologne and the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne are once again represented in the international "Highly Cited Researchers" ranking, which is published annually on the basis of information from the "Web of Science" publication database. Scientists on this list are among the world's most influential one percent of their field - as measured by the frequency with which their scientific publications have been cited by their peers over the past ten years (2011-2021). Three of these five physicians are Principal Investigators at CECAD.
