Prof. Björn Schumacher has been nominated for the prestigious German Medical Award for his work at the CECAD Cologne Cluster of Excellence on Aging and Aging-associated Diseases. The CECAD Speaker has been nominated in the new “Prevention & Longevity” category, which recognizes approaches to health promotion, prevention, and the long-term maintenance of quality of life.

The German Medical Award is one of the most prestigious honors in the fields of innovative medicine, research, and digitalization. It is aimed at hospitals, private practitioners, medical professionals, researchers, and innovative companies in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries—both national and international—that demonstrate outstanding achievements in research and patient care.

The award ceremony will take place on November 12, 2026.
