CECAD Offers Medical Student Fellowships
CECAD is the unifying driving force bringing together researchers and clinicians of the University and the University Hospital of Cologne. CECAD Cologne is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the Excellence Initiative set up by the German Federal and State Governments.
The mission of CECAD is to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying lifespan regulation and aging-associated diseases (e.g. aging-associated impairment of pathogen defense, cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases). CECAD’s long-term objective is to develop novel therapeutic interventions.
To allow medical students at different stages of their careers to gain research experience and to practice their ‘bench-to-bedside’ thinking, CECAD now offers:
- 3 x 2 months early stage (2. – 3. semester) medical student fellowships
Aim: ‘Experience bench research!’ Funding: 670 €/month - 2 x 6 months late stage (5. – 7. semester) medical student fellowships
Aim: ‘Conduct a research project in one of our CECAD laboratories!’ Funding: 670 €/month
We encourage highly motivated students to apply all year round. Interested candidates are invited to send a complete application in English (CV, motivation, mentioning of specific project and ideally a specific CECAD laboratory for conducting the project) by email (in a single pdf document) to cecad- juniorscientists@uni-koeln.de.
A hosting CECAD group is a prerequisite for funding. For assistance in finding a suitable research group please contact us.
