Portrait of David Meyer

On November 13, Dr. David Meyer will launch the new event series “Science Meets People” in the Lower Saxony municipality of Garrel, which includes his hometown of Nikolausdorf. Through this initiative, the CECAD early-career researcher is bringing aging research closer to the people in his home region.

As part of his research, he has developed new approaches for analyzing biological aging, focusing in particular on so-called “age clocks,” which can determine an organism’s biological age based on data. His research combines bioinformatics, genetics, data analysis, and artificial intelligence.

Under the title

“How Biological Clocks Tick—What Data Reveals About Health, Aging, and the Future of Biological Research,”

Dr. Meyer will explain how large amounts of data can be used to gain new insights into health, lifestyle, and aging processes. The lecture is specifically intended not only for experts but also for anyone interested in gaining an accessible insight into current scientific developments.
