ImAGEin Student Selected for Wübben Stiftung Wissenschaft Student Grant

Rumman Khan has been awarded with the Student Grant from the Wübben Stiftung Wissenschaft upon nomination by CECAD.

Rumman is a student in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s program “International Master on the Biology of Ageing (imAGEin)” and completed the first year of his studies at the University Côte d’Ázur in Nice, France.  He will continue his second year of studies at the University of Cologne in October 2026, where he will also conduct his master’s thesis. He was recognized not only for his academic achievements but also for his social engagement by the Wübben Stiftung.

“I am happy to be a part of the Wübben Stiftung Wissenschaft student grant community, and I am looking forward to developing research projects counteracting aging during the upcoming academic year at the University of Cologne” states Khan.

The Wübben Stiftung is a private foundation based in Berlin whose mission is to strengthen Germany as a center for science and research by supporting outstanding early-career researchers at various stages of their careers. The Student Grant Program supports particularly talented students from around the world who are passionate about research and are enrolled in the final year of their studies at German universities.

Starting in October 2026, the foundation will support 50 students with a monthly grant for one year, enabling them to focus entirely on completing their degrees and undertaking their first research projects.

imAGEin is an international Master’s program offered by the University of Cologne in cooperation with four European partner universities. The program contains a mandatory mobility phase between two European countries.Students gain a broad understanding of the biological mechanisms of ageing, age-related diseases and translational applications while studying in an international and collaborative environment.
