SFB 829 receives funding for four more years

The Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) 829 “Molecular Mechanisms Regulating Skin Homeostasis” has successfully renewed its consortium and will receive a further four years of funding by the German Research Foundation (DFG)

Scientists from the medical and natural science faculty of the University of Cologne, the University Hospital, the MPI for Biology of Ageing, the MPI for Metabolic Research and the German Sports University have successfully applied for funding of a third and last funding period. During its meeting on 17/18 November the DFG Senate decided to fund the SFB 829 with 11 M € until the end of 2020. the consortium consisting of 20 projects investigate the molecular and cellular interactions within and between the different skin compartments that control skin homeostasis and addresses how challenges disturbing this communication cause skin disease.
