The first IRCAN/CECAD Joint Retreat for PhD students and postdocs took place on 1st and 2nd October 2014 in Nice, France.

International collaborations and the exchange of scientific knowledge are essential parts of state-of-the-art aging research. The retreat allowed young scientists from IRCAN (Institute for Research on Cancer and Aging, Nice) and CECAD to meet in a friendly and informal atmosphere and share their experiences and expertise in the field of aging research. It included four sessions of short talks that covered research areas from genome stability, metabolism homeostasis, tissue regeneration to cancer development. Additionally, Dr. Salvador Aznar Benitah from the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) joined the event as keynote speaker. The participants showed great interest in this successful retreat and are looking forward to intensify their newly gained contacts in the future.
