A key focus in CECAD’s promotion of young scientists is the excellent education and training of PhD students. Besides the structured program at the Cologne Graduate School of Ageing Research, PhD students also have opportunities for direct financing by the CECAD research groups. All our doctoral students become part of the higher-level graduate school programmes, Graduate School for Biological Sciences (GSfBS) or Interdisciplinary Program Molecular Medicine (IPMM).
CECAD organizes various series of scientific seminars and lectures, as well as courses designed to assist in specific aspects of a scientific career (scientific presentation, scientific writing, communication training etc.).
In addition, the annual CECAD PhD student and PostDoc retreat provides an excellent opportunity for discussion and networking with CECAD’s other young research scientists.
The PhD student committee is a platform for active involvement in the design and development of the CECAD young scientist promotion program.
If you would like to apply for a PhD post at CECAD, independent of the Graduate School, check out the job opportunities advertised or contact directly the research group of interest.
Reach out to our PhD student representatives with any concerns, suggestions, or ideas you may have.
