CECAD is offering travel grants for early researchers of CECAD labs. The travel grants are announced at the beginning of the year. It is possible to apply for trips made in advance as well as for trips planned in the second half of the year, however, the decision will be made once after the application deadline.
These annual travel grants provide crucial financial assistance to present their research, network with leading experts, and stay updated with the latest advancements in their fields. Attending conferences is a valuable experience, offering the chance to gain feedback on their work, explore new research collaborations, and enhance professional skills.

The PTF program is only available to PhD students after their first year of doctoral training in a field relevant to EIT Health, i.e, medical, biotech, social, IT or technical research which is applicable in promoting healthy living and active ageing, and want to pursue a solid foundation to start planning an entrepreneurial venture based on a research topic of interest to them. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to attend the two-week summer Training Camp at the University of Oxford and win one of the Gold, Silver or Bronze final pitch awards
Three PhD students from the University of Cologne will be selected to represent the university of Cologne at the Training Camp in Oxford, obtaining valuable feedback on their innovative proposition. The selected students will receive 5,000 EUR in commercialisation support, a 1,500 EUR travel grant to participate in the Training Camp, and the possibility to win additional prizes of up to 3,000 EUR at the Training Camp pitch competition. The selection process is in two stages (1) written application and (2) local pitch competition.
Participants of the Training Camp will focus on obtaining transferable skills for entrepreneurship training, which includes professional pitch training by a highly-skilled pitch coach. Recipients will be further supported by the technology transfer and intellectual property offices of the universities involved for the duration of their fellowship. This will include help to assess the commercial potential of their results, to protect and manage the associated intellectual property, to identify the optimal route to commercialisation, to define what potential commercial partners expect in terms of proof of concept for a given technology, to secure follow on translational funding where needed to achieve proof of concept, and to identify, attract and secure potential partners/investors to further develop and commercialise new healthcare technologies.
