CECAD is the unifying driving force bringing together researchers and clinicians of the University, University Hospital and MPIs for Biology of Ageing and Metabolism Research in Cologne. The mission of CECAD is to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying lifespan regulation and aging-associated diseases (e.g. aging-associated impairment of pathogen defense, cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases). CECAD’s long-term objective is to develop novel therapeutic interventions.
To allow medical students at early stages of their careers to gain research experience, work on their dissertation and to practice their ‘bench-to-bedside’ thinking in a CECAD laboratory, we offer 6-months fellowships for after the 4th semester and from the start of the clinical part.
