Come and join us for a winterish day full of science and celebration at CECAD!
The event is open to the whole CECAD community and has no registration fee, however registration is mandatory.
Registration occurs by selecting the meal option at thi LINK.
The registration closes on December 6th, 2024.
Clara Correia-Melo is an Associate Group Leader at the Leibniz Institute for Aging – Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) and the DFG Cluster of Excellence “Balance of the Microverse.” Her research focuses on the interactions between host metabolism, the microbiome, and aging. She investigates how metabolite exchange between cells shapes metabolic environments, influencing tissue function, disease progression, and therapy outcomes. Her work highlights the role of these chemical communications, particularly in aging and disease, and their impact on health. Using metabolomics, proteomics, and computational approaches, she aims to uncover metabolic pathways to improve therapeutic strategies for aging-related conditions.
More information about her work is available at the Correia-Melo Lab website.
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wagner is a professor at RWTH Aachen University, where his research focuses on molecular and epigenetic mechanisms in stem cell biology, aging, and disease. His work investigates how epigenetic modifications impact hematopoietic differentiation, blood cancers, and hematological diseases. He also explores stem cell interactions with biomaterials and their niche to enhance regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. Additionally, Wagner studies the molecular effects of aging, replicative senescence, and malignant transformation in stem cells, aiming to uncover new therapeutic approaches for age-related diseases and cancer.
More information about his work is available at the Wagner Lab website.
